We’re all different.

The keys to success in working together come from being able to work across differences towards a shared goal.

In our experience, this work starts with internal reflection and commitment to continuous learning and growth in order to build capacity for the experiences of others.

Working Across Difference is both an intellectual and emotional pursuit. Our unique approach is informed by data, our experiences, and embodiment strategies.

Join our free workshops to connect with community & practice skills to build a more inclusive & loving world.

Meet your Facilitators

Working Across Difference is a collaboration between Josh Torres, founder of BE/volved Services, and Jess Dervin-Ackerman, founder of Justice Oriented Leadership. These are the ways we approach this work:

  • BE/volved works to help clients understand their present selves in order to define who they want to BE. We then work to help clients EVOLVE into that version of themselves. We see workshops as a tool that provides an opportunity to engage in insightful learning through interactive dialogue and reflection to make meaning. As a result, we build experiential learning rooted in the lived experiences of participants.

  • Justice Oriented Leadership works at the intersection of embodiment and social change. We believe that to be embodied means to be present with our truth, and in touch with our minds, bodies, and hearts.

Justice Oriented Leadership is the practice of accountability, commitment to integrity, shifting cultural norms, disrupting whiteness, personal awareness, and self-acceptance & love.
